From my wonderful publisher Open Books…
12 days left until the official launch of ReelRoyReviews, a book of film, music, and theatre reviews, by Roy Sexton!
Here’s what Roy thought about The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones: “Yeah, I wanted to see The Butler. I still want to see The Butler. This particular trip to the theatre, I did not see The Butler. Nope, instead, I saw The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones. Yup, you read that sentence correctly. Any film that has that many cryptically ominous words and a colon in the title is truly as bad as it sounds.”

hmmm….the butler or city of bones? the butler or city of bones? what to do, what to do? why city of bones of course!
it was SO phenomenally bad, Beth, that I almost didn’t write the original review from which this was excerpted, but it ended up being one of my most viewed of all time. so something good came from the terrible experience!
well, i believe there is always something to be said for, or about, a film at this level of bad.
amen, sister!
on the other end of the spectrum, i went to see ‘the great beauty’ today – italy’s entry for oscar’s best foreign film. wowza! beautifully shot and a bit surreal and dreamy.
you have so much better taste than I! I will have to check that out – though I suspect they don’t serve Sbarro pizza where it’s showing!
hahahaha – well you have to be in the mood for it, i think my date hated every second of it. kind of like ‘la dolce vita’ – fellini-ish.
🙂
