Paper Lions: George Plimpton, my mom, and me

Thanks to Deb Lowrance of Columbia City’s Peabody Public Library for finding this article and sending it to me. I love the movie reference and the photo of little me with author and raconteur George Plimpton, but I adore what they say about my mom Susie Duncan Sexton even more!

  1. I wonder how many little kids can say they spent time with…George Plimpton, the paper lion? this was a high point in our lives…indeed it was! and what a neat post and mail article! I still have the original somewhere…for sure!

    • I was very fortunate to have such a magical childhood and to have parents to encouraged me and presented so many clever and interesting and expansive opportunities. Thanks for making special things like this happen! love you

  3. wow….what heart-warming comments! back in the day, beth…back in the glorious past…once in awhile I got a bouquet or two along the way…now only foggy memories and a hobbling walk and wrinkles and ageism part of each day! 😉 but roy is the real prize! thanks, all!!! <3!!
