From my wonderful publisher Open Books…
The countdown continues! 6 days remain until the official launch of ReelRoyReviews, a book of film, music, and theatre reviews, by Roy Sexton!
Thanks to Kat Kelly-Heinzelman (read her blog here) for her friendship and support! She writes, “Check out my new profile picture; I think you will like it, Roy. LOL! Hope you’re having a good day … I love it [Reel Roy Reviews]. Have been reading since I got it. Good so far!”
Please note that, in addition to online ordering, the book currently is being carried by Green Brain Comics in Dearborn, Michigan and by Memory Lane Gift Shop in Columbia City, Indiana. Memory Lane also has copies of Susie Duncan Sexton’s Secrets of an Old Typewriter series.
Here’s a snippet from Roy’s review of HER: “Phoenix works those limpid blue eyes of his, falling head over heels for a sweet-and-saucy, ever-evolving artificially intelligent ‘operating system’ (voiced by Scarlett Johansson, turning in some of the better work of her career).”

on it’s way to me and i’m excited. i hope it is delivered by an amazon drone.
that would be pretty amazing! take photos!!! and then grab the drone and we’ll keep it as a pet/sidekick and name it “Joaquin Phoenix”!
perfect and hopefully it will play johnny cash music.
But only the Rick Rubin-produced stuff!
oh, i was thinking of joaquin in ‘i walk the line,’ but i agree, the albums rick produced are gold. raw, natural, recorded in his living room, filled with remorse, regret, sadness, – heartbreaking.
He should have gotten the Oscar, not Reese. And your description of the Rubin albums is spot on
i agree about the oscar, and those albums just tore me up listening to them.
Agreed. His version of nine inch nails’ “hurt” is astounding
EXACTLY THE ONE IS WAS THINKING OF.
trent reznor said he was mad johnny wanted to do it at first, it was his song, his struggle with addiction and how much time and life he wasted. when he heard johnny sing it, he burst into tears and said it was really HIS song, even better than when he, himself sang it.
Good for Trent! I love him too!
I love being on the same page wth beth and roy and Joaquin…my snow dropping on his sweet head…
and we love having you here!
it is always exciting when everyone gets to chatting on here, and so fun when- bam! susie arrives, like virgin mary suddenly dropping in from out of town, watching from above (or toledo, wherever she may find herself), and joins in the fray, making it even more fun, and giving us her blessing. thanks, susie )
the three of us indeed make a great and fun team!!
